401(k) & Retirement Planning Workshops What Do You Need to Retire and Where Will It Come From?® [3.5 hours] Have you run the numbers to estimate when you can retire? How much should you be saving? This workshop will provide you with the tools to answer these questions based on the provisions of Social Security and your Company's retirement plans. In a truly unique approach to retirement education, you will estimate what you should be contributing to your 401(k) plan to ensure an adequate retirement for yourself (for both normal and early retirement). You will leave the class with personalized retirement estimates. Finally, you will learn a number of money-saving ideas that should help you start finding the dollars (or more of them) to contribute toward your retirement. Retirement Planning: A Positive Approach [3.5 hours] This workshop is for employees within 5-10 years of retirement who need a head start on planning the work-to-retirement transition. You will determine the adequacy of your current nest egg and how much is necessary to save. You will also learn to navigate through estimated taxes, taxable Social Security benefits, and the Social Security earnings penalty. This course also covers the important factors to consider in areas of: post-retirement living arrangements; balancing leisure, work, and volunteer efforts; transitions in relationships; and maintaining overall health and well-being. Plan a Rewarding Future [3.5 hours] For employees 10 or more years away from retirement, this workshop will pave the way. You will: focus on maintaining and building relationships for the future, learn sources of retirement income, plan to maintain your standard of living, maximize your "nest egg," and understand which financial records to maintain. You will also discuss the physical and financial realities of aging. Making Your Money Last in Retirement [90 minutes] What can you do to make your retirement savings last? Identify ways to stretch your retirement fund's life expectancy. Understand the importance of cash reserves for weathering the ups and downs of the market. Learn how to use tools to estimate how long your money will last. This course will also cover retirement distribution alternatives, estimated taxes, and other retirement tax issues. Basics of Saving & Investing [3 hours] How do you use your hard-earned money to achieve your major lifetime goals? This workshop will help you identify the building blocks of a successful investment plan. It will cover principal investment products, as well as many important concepts including the time value of money, diversification, asset allocation, and portfolio rebalancing. You will relate these concepts to your Company's 401(k) investment options and estimate an appropriate allocation of your invested funds. Back to top
